Some interesting places that we recommend to visit
Our territory offers many and different attractions that you can discover yourself or through guided tours. At the reception desk our staff will be happy to provide detailed information and help you in the choice. Here, for reason of space we can suggest only some of most beautiful places you can visit in half a day (Syracuse and Aeolian Islands in a day):- Giardini Naxos, with his archeological site and the museum (3 minutes walking).
- Taormina, with his famous Greek-Roman theatre (7/8 minutes driving).
- Castelmola, with his grandiose views and the remains of his mediaeval castle (12/13 minutes driving).
- Alcantara gorges, a unique place of a great naturalistic interest (12/13 minutes driving).
- Mt. Etna, the biggest active volcano in Europe with his regional natural park (one our driving).
- "The Riviera dei Ciclopi". Aci Castello with his Norman castle on the sea and Aci Trezza, a picturesque seaside village celebrated by the novelist Verga and also famous thanks to the Homer's Odissey (about 30 minutes driving).
- Aeolian Islands. Uncontaminated waters, amazing colours, beautiful coasts, interesting archaeological sites and volcanic phenomena (one hour driving until Milazzo and about one hour to reach Vulcano an Lipari, the nearest islands).
- Siracusa, a capital of ancient world with an extraordinary architectural and a monumental complex among the most important in the Mediterranean (about one hour driving).
- Piazza Armerina, with the Villa Romana del Casale decorated with multicoloured mosaic floors, which is one of the most important vestiges of the roman emperors (about one hour driving).
